Abstract:
In this paper, we plan to examine how Herbert Marcuse demystifies the overall technical and technological development and its impact on human understanding of the world and society. In addition to the analysis of Marcuse’s views on the undoubtedly unprecedented industrial development in the history of humankind, the paper seeks to emphasize how he tried to scrutinize what happens with the consciousness in such circumstances, and whether within such an order it is even possible to speak of a pluriperspective understanding of the world, since all human views have been overcome and reduced to only one. However, Marcuse found a possible way out in the aesthetic transcendence of one-dimensionality, since only there the consciousness has not yet been provoked in a clearly calculated way.
